Charles E. Ingram, of Kosse, passed away in Groesbeck LTC on Tuesday, June 18, 2025.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Church of Christ in Kosse.
Charles was born December 24, 1937, to Edgar Ingram and Geneva Hill in Kosse. He grew up in the Moss Spring community and graduated from Kosse High School in the Class of 1956. He played on the Kosse Greyhound 6-man football team where Barnett Lown was the coach.
Charles joined the U. S. Navy where he served on an aircraft carrier and was an electrician on jets. After his honorable discharge, he helped start the first police department in Marlin. After two years, he was hired as a State Trooper for the State of Texas. During his career, he attended Navarro College and then earned his Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in 1978. During his career he was awarded the position of a special Texas Ranger. He retired after fifty years of service.
Charles loved shooting pistols, rifles and shotguns. He loved the outdoors and was always riding the back roads checking his favorite fishing spots. Charles loved history and spent a lot of time with his metal detector looking for old coins and treasures. Charles was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club and would take off on many adventures with his buddies. Colorado and Canada were some of his destinations. Charles was an accomplished guitar player and loved music.
Of all his accomplishments, the most important part of Charles’ life was that he was a Christian and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized at the Golinda Baptist Church with his son Randy in 1978. He was a member of the Kosse Church of Christ.
Charles was a Texas law man and a friend to many; he loved his family and was strong and courageous in all endeavors.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Geneva and sister, Nora Ann Ensminger.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles Randall ( Randy) and Stephanie Ingram; daughter, Leia Suzanne Hopkins and husband Raymond; grandsons, Tyler Jones, William Jones and wife Kat , Cameron Ingram and wife Kaci, Kyle Ingram and wife Bri; great grandsons, Carson Jones, Caleb Jones, Max Ingram, Tate Ingram and great granddaughter, Selena Jones; brother and sister-in-law, James S. and Pam Ingram; and previous step daughter Mindy Dudley and family; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
