Catherine Dean Whyburn

Catherine ‘Cathy’ Dean Whyburn, age 67, of Robinson, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026.

Cathy was born on March 16, 1959 to Sue and Lewis Nulph Sr. in Abilene, Texas. Cathy married her love on June 20th, 1981. She resided in Robinson, Texas where she enjoyed watching her family grow, laugh, and love together.

To say Cathy was generous would only capture a fraction of who she was. Her life was defined by an abundant, radiant love that she gave freely to anyone in need. She was a natural harbor for the weary and a fierce protector of those she loved.

She possessed a rare and beautiful gift: an intuitive heart. Anyone could come to her with a burden, and without judgment, she simply knew what they needed. Whether it was practical help, wise counsel, or a safe place to land, Cathy provided it tenfold. She lived her life with an open door and an even wider heart, leaving a legacy of kindness that will be carried on by the countless lives she touched.

Cathy is survived by her sons, Corey Whyburn and Blake Whyburn and wife Shanna, her brother Lewis Nulph Jr., granddaughter Haylee, grandson Tylor to whom she gave a mother’s love and devotion throughout his life, sister-friend Martha Rhodes, and a beautiful addition of nieces and nephews, who will forever miss her warmth, her laughter, and her sheltering love. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sue and Lewis Nulph Sr., sister Debbie Ramirez, and husband Robert Whyburn.

A service to celebrate her beautiful life and legacy will be held on June 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you perform an intentional act of kindness for someone in need, just as Cathy always did.
