Carolynn Kay Warren

Carolynn Kay Warren, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away in Waco, Texas on May 20, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on August 11, 1944, in Waco, Texas, she was the daughter of Lee Montrose and Dovie C. Montrose of Robertson County.

Carolynn graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and dedicated her life to caring for her family and serving others through various professional roles. In addition to raising four children, she worked as a secretary in an insurance company, served as a hospital clinic employee, a US Army Judge Advocate General (JAG) office assistant in Korea, and held various administrative roles throughout her life. She was also the co-owner of a homebuilding business in Eddy, Texas.

On December 30, 1962, Carolynn married the love of her life, Frank W. Warren, in Waco, Texas. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership. A woman of faith, Carolynn was a devoted member of Bruceville Baptist Church. She was active in her community and continued to serve others in meaningful ways throughout her life.

Carolynn will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and sisters; and granddaughter, Angela Smetana.

Carolynn is survived by her husband, Frank Warren; children, Teresa Smetana and spouse Layne Smetana, Deanna Warren, James Warren and spouse Elena Warren; grandchildren, Rebekah Smetana, Jacob Smetana, Kristin Teplansky, Brandon Teplansky; great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 23 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Pastor Mickey Fugitt officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Waco Memorial Park. There will be a visitation from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, May 22 at the funeral home.
