Carla Jeanette Bell

December 1, 1960 — August 1, 2025

Mart, TX

Carla Bell, 64, of Mart, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on August 1, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on December 1, 1960, to Calvin Linkous Sr. and Emma Pate Linkous, Carla brought warmth, laughter, and a spark of humor wherever she went. She was married to James Bell Sr.

Carla was a dedicated insurance adjuster with Farm Bureau, a career she began as her very first job and one she returned to time and again—even after retirement. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her vibrant personality and zest for life.

Carla had a deep love for nature and animals, especially horses and taking care of her garden. She found joy in the simple pleasures—decorating for every holiday with care and flair, enjoying time on the Texas coast in Rockport, and sharing laughter over a glass of wine, especially at her favorite spot, Kissing Tree Vineyards.

A true jokester at heart, Carla was known for her quick wit and ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face. She lived life fully and generously, embracing every moment with a lighthearted spirit and a loving heart.

Carla is survived by husband, James Ray Bell Sr.; Daughter, Jamie Archer and Husband Chantz; sons, James Bell Jr. and wife Mary, and Bubba Brunson; Grandchildren, Alexus, Emily, and Maddie Archer, and Grandpup Winston; Brothers, Calvin Linkous Jr and wife Janie, and Carlton Linkous; Nieces and nephews: Calvin Linkous III and wife Wendy, Destiny Gonzales and husband Ryan. Nikki Linkous, Kayla Smith and husband Cody, and Devon Motley; Great nieces and nephews: Hunter and Gunner Linkous, Ryan Gonzales, Kayle and Cole Smith, and Ayla and Rylie Mueller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Emma Linkous; brother, Luther Carnahan Sr; nephew, Luther Carnahan Jr.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
