Billy Wayne Wooley

Billy Wayne Wooley, 69, of Troy, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Billy was born on July 5, 1957, in Waco, Texas, to Billy Joe and Delores Ann (Murphree) Wooley. Throughout his life, Billy was known for his hard work, generous heart, and unwavering love for his family and community. He spent many years working for Haught A/C and the City of Waco. He also dedicated many years to coaching at Southern Little League, where he had the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of countless young people.

Billy had a love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed deer hunting. But of all the things he loved in life, nothing compared to being a Pawpaw. His grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His love, laughter, guidance, and presence will forever remain a treasured part of their lives.

Billy married Rhonda Oates on January 26, 2002, in Eddy, Texas. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and countless memories that will be cherished forever.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Donnie Rowe; his brother, Don Wooley; and his beloved granddaughter, Kaylee Babick.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Rhonda; his daughters, Amber (Shane) Sykes, Hayley (Matt) Lechler, and Ashley (Andrew) Babick; his sister, Brenda Ary; his sister-in-law, Bea Wooley; and his beloved grandchildren, Ethan Lechler, Kenna Brooker, Deanna Sykes, Kelson Sykes, and Morris Lechler. He is also survived by his nephews, Johnny Wooley and Justin Wooley, and his niece, Ashley Pilgrim.

Billy’s greatest legacy is the love he gave so freely to his family. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on through the stories shared, the lessons he taught, the laughter he brought, and most importantly, through the family he loved so deeply.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Bruceville Community Church, located at 583 Old Moody Road, Eddy, Texas.
