Billie Ann Stigliano, 81, of Waco, Texas, passed away on October 8, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Billie was born on June 24, 1945, in DeQuincy, Louisiana. She grew up in Ragley, in the Lake Charles area, and graduated from Ragley High School. She was honest, independent, strong-willed, and never afraid to speak her mind. Billie never met a stranger and made friends wherever she went. Resourceful and capable, she had a gift for solving problems and was fiercely protective of the people she loved.
In 1964, while stationed with the United States Air Force at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, a fellow servicewoman introduced Billie to a young military training instructor named Paul (Tony) Stigliano. Just two months after meeting, they married on June 19, 1964, in a small courthouse ceremony in San Antonio. Their marriage would last more than 62 years.
Their life together took them across the country, including Hawaii, Minnesota, Ohio, and several cities throughout Texas, before settling in Waco, Billie’s favorite of all the places they had been stationed.
Coming from a strong Masonic family background, Billie was a Past Matron of McLennan Chapter No. 639, Order of the Eastern Star. She found great joy in her involvement with Eastern Star and treasured the friendships, fellowship, and opportunities to serve. She also earned and maintained her cosmetology license, although she never worked professionally as a beautician. Over the years, she volunteered with numerous organizations and was always willing to lend a hand.
More than anything, Billie loved being a wife, mother, and especially “Grammy.” She loved spending time with her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to spoil them. She told her family she loved them “bunches” and her grandchildren “a bushel and a peck” — words they will always remember hearing from her.
Billie was a devoted Christian who loved movies and music, especially Elvis Presley.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Gussie Johnson, and her beloved son, Jon Marcus Stigliano.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Stigliano; her son, James Anthony Stigliano; her daughter, Jami Nicole Stigliano Andosca (Joe); her sister, Trudy Broiles (Kirk); and her niece, Elizabeth Atkins. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Brandon, Brent (Rebecca), Cassidy (Triston), Jake, Caleb (Katie), Evan Olivia, and Josie; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren, Oliver, and Liam.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that Billie has been reunited in Heaven with her son Mark, her parents, her cherished Grandma Rollie and Grandpa Bill, and her beloved dog, Maddi.
Billie leaves behind a lifetime of stories and memories. She will be deeply missed.
A private service will be held for family.
