Betty Reyes

May 13, 1954 — January 14, 2024

Betty DeLeon Reyes passed away on January 14, 2024, at Baylor Scott and White-Hillcrest, in Waco Texas with her family by her side. Betty was born on May 13, 1954, to Pauline and Pablo “Paul” DeLeon in the Cottonwood Community near Waco. There will be a visitation at Pecan Grove Funeral Home at 3124 N. Robinson Drive, Waco, Texas on Monday, January 22 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Betty enjoyed cooking and feeding her family and friends. King George Straight was certainly the star in her eye, as she loved everything George. She showed the love of her family by attending all the sporting events of her grandchildren, helping and attending family gatherings of any kind, especially loving family reunions. She was lovingly called “Lucy” by her family, as she often took pleasure in getting her sister in trouble, like Lucy and Ethel in the “I Love Lucy Show.”

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lionel Reyes; her son, Patrick Vasquez; niece, Paula Torres; and a nephew, Timothy DeLeon.

Betty is survived by her sons, Manuel Vasquez and Mickey Vasquez and wife Kristie; six grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Rosa Meeks, Gloria Crim, Margie Ingram and her brothers, Johnny DeLeon and Joe DeLeon. Betty will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
