Betty Jo Quinn of Riesel, Texas passed away on December 20, 2025 with her family by her side. There will be a visitation from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 29 at the funeral home with burial immediately following at Oakwood Cemetery.
Betty Jo was born on October 20, 1936 in Corsicana, Texas to James Conrad "Doc" Jackson and Florine "Flo" Jackson. She attended school in Austin, Texas, at the Texas School for the Deaf. During her high school years, she was a twirler, drum major, and cheerleader. Betty Jo married Jerrell William Quinn on July 18, 1964, in Waco, Texas. She worked for Central Freight Lines for 30 years. Betty Jo loved spending time with her family, especially going to all her grandchildren’s baseball games and other activities. She enjoyed bowling, gardening in her flowerbeds, and spending time with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her in-laws, Elvin “Doodle” and Velma Quinn; and a special aunt and uncle, Everett and Thelma Smith. Betty Jo is survived by her daughter, Dottie Nowaski and husband, Jerry; son, Darrell Quinn, and wife Nikki; grandchildren, Justin Allen, Nicholas Allen, Hunter Quinn, and Randi Dawson; great-grandchildren, Jase and Jaxon Pauley, and Brixlee and Quinn Dawson; and a very special cousin, Yvonne Slovacek.
Our family wants to extend our heartfelt thanks to Golden Years Nursing Home staff for loving and caring for our mother, and to the staff who took it upon themselves to learn ASL so they could better communicate with her. Also, a heartfelt thanks to Bluebonnet Hospice for their love and care.
