Betty Nell Henson

Betty Nell Henson, 94, of Waco, Texas, passed away on September 5, 2026, in Plano, Texas.

Betty was born on November 17, 1931, in Bells, Texas, to William Elmer Marlow and Zelma Fay Marlow. She attended school in White Settlement, Texas, and on May 1, 1948, she married Morris Sidney Henson of Fort Worth, Texas - a union that would last 68 years.

After moving to Waco, Betty spent many years as an office manager for Swift and Company before joining ARA Food Service at Baylor University, where she worked for 14 years until her retirement in 1989.

Betty and Sidney were longtime, devoted members of Primrose Baptist Church in Waco. They both led with a servant's heart and desire to raise up the younger generation for Christ and help those in need. If the opportunity didn’t exist, they created it and had the honor of leading many people to the Lord and setting a Godly example.

They shared a deep love of the outdoors, traveling together to some of the most beautiful places on Earth, building a lifetime of treasured memories along the way. When they weren't traveling, they were spending time with family, cheering on the Baylor Bears, rarely missing a game. Most evenings found them sharing a meal, enjoying a card game, dominoes, dice, or old Westerns on TV.

Betty was preceded in death by her brother Jack Marlow, her sister Doris Henderson, and her beloved Sidney, her husband of 68 years. Not a day went by that she didn’t long to be in heaven with Sid. Their bond was unbreakable — whenever they were near each other, they would be frequently found hand in hand.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Linda Friedholm, and husband David Friedholm of Carrollton, Texas; granddaughter Amber Leigh Malcolm and husband Todd Malcolm of Highland Village, Texas; great-grandchildren Kaleigh and Dylan Malcolm; and two beloved fur babies, Bella and Chloe.
