Bernice Shelton

Bernice (Bea) Ruth Shelton, 88, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020. Bea’s wishes were to be cremated. Her daughter will take her back to Chowchilla, California to be laid to rest next to her husband. There will be a celebration of life at the home of her daughter, Christine Hudson, 740 Cavin Lane, Axtell, TX, from 10am to 12pm, Saturday, July 18, 2020.
Bernice (Bea) was born February 3, 1932 in San Jose, CA, to Elijuh and Helen Phay Jones. She graduated from San Jose High School and went on to be a wife and a mother. She had nine children.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd Shelton; three sons, Steven Tharp, David Buchanan, Charles Buchanan; and one daughter, Sharon Cochran.
She leaves behind two daughters, Shirley Benoy and Christine Hudson; three sons, Billy Buchanan, Paul Buchanan and Robert Shelton and wife Esther; one brother, William Jones; two sisters, Laura Hudson and Virgie Wells; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
