William Mefford

William Theron Mefford, Jr., 93, of Eddy, TX, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Bruceville-Moore Cemetery, 540 S. Old Bruceville Road, Bruceville, TX, with Rev. Lisa Kattness Meador officiating.
William was born October 22, 1928, in Muskogee, OK, to William Theron, Sr. and Velma (Powell) Mefford. He married Katherine “Sammie” Waldrop on September 13, 1946. They were married nearly 71 years until her passing in 2017. William owned his own life insurance agency for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and always had a good story to tell. He and Sammie also spent time RV’ing.
William was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine “Sammie” Mefford; and his parents.
He is survived by his children, William Gene Mefford and Velma Irene Martin; grandchildren, Kim Dyer, Tammy Taylor, Dee Onna Herrera and Kristy Stuver; nine great-grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
