I first met Susan at the VA hospital more than 20 years ago. After retirement, she and I and a few others would meet for lunch..we ate, we caught ip on family news, and we laughed a lot. I will cherish those memories. I offer my sincere sympathy. Mary Puente

To the family of Susan (Nemmer) Alexander:
I want to express my sincere condolences to Susan's family for the loss of such a lovely person. I remember Susan from many years ago in Waco. Frank and I spent many hours at her parent's house on the Marlin Highway as well as at Joe and Janice Nemmer's house in Waco. She was always so sweet and compassionate to everyone. She always had a beautiful smile on her face and spread a lot of cheer and happiness when we interacted. I know she will be very missed by all who loved her.

I worked along side Susan since 1990 at the Waco VA until transferring to Temple in 1996. Occasionally would stop in to say hey and talk about her children and the many of my own. She was always smiling amidst her physical challenges but I never was aware of her complaining about them. She had very soft and kind spirit that anyone who met her would certainly enjoy. She will be missed. I am very bless to have known her for so many years. RIP.

In the 1950s my brother and I lived at the other end of the block from Sue and her brother Jim on Alexander Avenue. She was always a good friend to us and a sweet girl. We moved away and didn’t see her again. Then, about 50 years later when our mom died in 2012, we both were shocked when Sue and her husband Mark showed up at the visitation! Only a sweet, good-hearted woman would take the time to comfort childhood friends that she had not seen in such a long time! She set such a good example for all of us, and I will miss her. I won’t be able to get to Waco for the service, but to Mark and Jim and the whole family, I pray that God will give you all comfort and strength. - Mike Smith
