Ronald Koester

October 16, 1948 — August 16, 2022

“And the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.”
–Ecclesiastes 12:7

Ronald E. Koester, 73, passed peacefully from this earth on August 16, 2022. His life was full. He was blessed. He accomplished what he set out to do.
He was born on October 16, 1948 to Mildred and Lorenz Koester. He lived in Robinson his entire life. After graduating from Robinson High School, he studied Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University and graduated December 11, 1971. One week later on the 18th he married the “love of his life” Dana. He began working for the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) in Waco and retired as the Senior Bridge Design Engineer in 2003. Along the way he was blessed with a daughter, Angela, and her husband Steven, and two precious granddaughters, Eden and Gemma. He was further blessed with a goddaughter, Heather, and her husband Curtis, and four boys, Cubbie, Carson, Colin, and Cyler.
He was a devoted husband and lifelong partner. A gentle protector. A cherished dad. A treasured godfather. A beloved papaw (who always had yummy snacks). A favorite uncle. A dearly loved brother-in-law. A special nephew and cousin. A trusted friend.
His favorite things were midnight buffets on cruise ships sailing to exotic places, moldy oldie country songs, growing things, and just being outdoors. He was curious and inquisitive, and he prided himself on getting “good value”. He was folksy and witty, and we will all remember his quips with laughter. He loved to travel. His favorite adventure was riding camels among the pyramids, and a dune buggy across the Sahara to get a panoramic view of the Sphinx.
And now he is on his greatest adventure yet. He is exploring worlds unknown. He is restored.
You will be greatly missed sweet sojourner…….you are loved. But we will see you soon.

“I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die.”
–John 11:25-26
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
