Obituary

On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, Raymond Spradlin, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 86.
Ray was born January 17, 1934 in Winters, TX to Seaborn and Katherine Spradlin. He had 6 siblings. He met the love of his life, Barbara Spradlin and married her on June 9, 1956 in Waco, TX. Shortly after, he was drafted in the US Army and served a total of 12 years (active/reserve). They raised two daughters and two sons. Ray was one of the hardest working men and worked multiple jobs with ultimately running his own successful Home Improvement/remodeling business until he retired in 2005.
Ray had a passion for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He would give the shirt off his back and believed in a firm handshake and a reputable name. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a service-disabled veteran. Ray is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, son “baby” Spradlin and great-grandson Daniel Ziegler. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara, his four children, Ranee, Rhonda, Randall (Melissa), and Ramon(Bobbie), his grandchildren, Stacy (Brandon) Paulson , Rae-Lynn (Dan) Ziegler, Danielle (David) Heffley, Remington Harrison, Dylan Cammack, Tyler Cammack, Austin Spradlin, Evan Spradlin, Leah Spradlin, McKenzie Spradlin, Scott Spradlin, and his Great Grandchildren, Levi Paulson, Brooklynn Paulson, Katelynn Paulson, Tanner Heffley, Avery Spradlin, Maxwell Heffley, Adaline Ziegler, Cambree Spradlin, Valencia Spradlin, Cayden Cammack, and Jazzyln Spradlin.
A viewing will be held on Monday November 9th, 2020 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, TX. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, with Dr. Cary Killough officiating. Burial will follow at Robinson Cemetery.

Barbara and family, I feel as though I have lost a second father. Ray was so good and kind to me. I never will forget the time he came to our rescue after being in a severe car wreck on the access road of IH-35, south of Robinson. That blue suburban flew to our help within minutes of calling the Spradlin's home. Ray got out, walked over and so calmly asked, "what can I do to help". That was over 40 years ago, and that memory of him will go to my grave. God Bless all of you...Gary...
