Minerva (Minnie) G. Gonzalez, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2020, in Waco. Born December 11, 1937, in San Antonio. A registered nurse for over 40 years, she trailblazed her way as LVN, RN, prison chaplain, counselor, missionary, director, and Laredo Angel Tree founder throughout her long and celebrated life in San Antonio, Laredo, and Waco. Her strength and faith lifted her family and friends. She loved them well.
She was preceded in death by her former husband and father of her children, Reverend Edward Gonzalez. She was the beloved mother of Elizabeth (Robert) Palacios, Edward Gonzalez, Mark (Blanca) Gonzalez, and MariAnne Okafor. She was grandmother to 10 and great grandmother to 23 with many “adopted” grandchildren along the way.
