Mary Rodriquez

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, Mary Lucille (Quintero) Rodriquez passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023.

Mary was born on July 21, 1947, in Waco, Texas to George and Elisa Quintero. She met her husband Eugene Rodriquez in Waco, Texas and they married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on June 27, 1964. Eugene and Mary welcomed their beloved daughter Mary Elisa on March 27, 1965.

Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Church Catholic Church and worked at Smith Furniture for more than 30 years. She loved spending time with her family, watching the Baylor Bears and cheering on her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. She also enjoyed spending time online, chatting with friends and family and watching her favorite shows.

One of Mary's favorite activities was spending time with her grandson, Peter, as well as with the nephew and niece she helped raise, James and Megan Rodriguez.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Elisa Quintero; her husband, Eugene Rodriquez; granddaughter, Mickayla Acosta; brother, George Quintero; sister, Frances (Quintero) Guerra; and sister-in-law, Mary Margaret Rodruquez.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Elisa Acosta and husband Pedro; grandson, Peter Acosta and wife Mayra; brother, Jim Quintero and wife Sherry; brother, Thomas Quintero and wife Cathy; sister, Gloria (Quintero) Levine and husband Bob; sister, Hope Quintero; sister-in-law, Liz Duke; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco. A rosary will take place at 7 p.m. A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 20 at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S. 5th Street.
