Lucy Dupree

October 21, 1948 — January 5, 2021

Lucy Beshear Dupree, 72 passed away peacefully on January 5th, 2021, with her husband by her side. Her devotion to her family and firm belief in God supported her in this struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Lucy was born Oct 21, 1948 in Waco, TX to Elmer & Virginia Beshear. She graduated from Waco High School in 1967 and married Robert Dupree in the same year. They were married for 53 years in May.
Her retail career started in the 80's with over 35 years ending with retirement in 2014. She was an asst. buyer with Career Girl, upon their closing she went to the credit dept. at Cox's department store. She went on to Goldstein's (Dunlap's) where she was the counter manager for Clinique, as well as the floor manager of displays. Ending her career at Waco Jewelers working with Michael Habern.
In retirement Lucy enjoyed her family and spending time traveling also enjoying the horse races at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie.
Lucy is survived by her husband Robert Dupree, son Gary Dupree (Jenny Dupree), daughter Cathy Dupree Jackson (late Dave Jackson), brother Jerry Beshear (Shirley Beshear), sister Vicky Beshear Donaldson (Ricky Donaldson), brother-in-law Charles Dupree (Melody Dupree), grand-children Kaci Dupree and Shane Dupree (Amanda Dupree), great-grandchildren Tempe Barber, Slade Barber, Harley Dupree and Braxton Bearden, in addition to several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At this time, no services will be held due to COVID restrictions. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice Angels Foundation 503 N. Euclid Ave., Bay City, MI 48706. The family wishes to send a special thanks to Jackie for her care and compassion.
