Obituary

Jose Salazar, 86, of Waco passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020 at his home. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, May 29th at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, May 28th at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco.

Jose was born December 23, 1933 to Rosendo and Herminia (De Los Santos) Salazar in Sejita, Texas. He was a loving husband to his wife, Perfecta, of 58 years, and a great father to his children. He spent his life as a farmer, harvesting as far away as North Dakota. He also spent time working in construction. Jose enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Perfecta Soto Salazar.

Jose is survived by his son and caregiver, Gilberto Salazar; special family friend, Bruce Rozell; along with five other children; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

You were a great dad, you loved mama so much, as she loved you. I will miss you dearly. I think of you everyday, I’m sure mama was so happy to see you again. I thank you for everything you did for us.
I will always love you with all of my heart.
Give mom a big kiss for me, I miss her so much. I’m so happy you are both finally together again. ....I will see you both again when God says it’s my time.

To one of the greatest men I know you will be so very missed by all that knew you and all that loved you you were an amazing father, grandfather, and great grandfather and a friend to all who knew you . I love you grandpa!! Ive never had a bad memory of him only good ones. He was a my only grandpa so i loved him twice as much. While i sit here and cry i can't help but to giggle a little at all the funny things hes always done. He was very strong and lived a good life loved by so many. I will miss him dearly but i know hes up there with my grandma and there smiling from ear to ear.... I can't wait to see yall on the other side.. Papa i love you more i love you more i love you more forever and always!! I wish i could argue with you like that one more time! Rest in peace papa ❤👼😘
