Jesus Torres

July 24, 1932 — April 30, 2021

Jesus V. Torres, "Jesse", of Waco, passed away at home at the age of 88. He was born on July
24th 1932 in Rosebud, TX to Jose & Maria Torres. Jesse married Amada Rios of Chilton, TX before being
drafted to the Korean War. He returned home to his wife after the war, November 4, 1954 and had five
sons and two daughters. He opened his own business, Jesse's Welding, in 1962 and retired from the
welding/blacksmith industry at the age of 76.

Jesse began to study the bible in the early 70's and dedicated his life to Jehovah God Feb.25th
1972 and became one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He spent the rest of his life sharing his faith with family,
friends and every one he met.

He remarried on Feb.14, 1981 to Oralia Chavez of Austin, TX and had one son, Samuel Torres.
Jesse had many accomplishments throughout his life. He was the first Hispanic General
Contractor recognized by the Waco Chamber of Commerce, was recognized as the last real Blacksmith in
McLennan County in 1963, and was awarded business man of the year and honoring's from the
LULAC. He also was a donor to multiple local organizations like the Shriners, Boys Club, Lions Club,
etc. He enjoyed investigating his Native American heritage and loved all outdoor activities. He also
enjoyed catering and barbecuing for his family and friends, but the one thing he loved to do the most was
share with everyone he met what he had learned studying the bible. It didn't matter how old or young
you were or how educated or not educated you were, he would always share his faith and hope he had
in what he learned by studying what the bible says. He was serving as a ministerial servant at the time of
his passing. Jesse was a "one of a kind" man, once you met him, you would never, never forget him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose & Maria Torres, his baby sister Anita Moran, brother
in law Manuel Moran. His baby brother Jose Torres. His granddaughter Paula Joe Torres, grandson
Charlie Sisneros, great grandson Jaylen Andrade, great granddaughter Genesis Torres, daughter in law Silvia Torres and daughter in law Rose Torres.

He is survived by his, sister Lupe Torrez, her husband Simon Torrez of Plano, TX. His first wife Amada Beltran, son Jesus Torres Jr., wife Francisca Torres, son Jose Amado Torres, daughter Rose Mary Torres-Gonzales, son Johnny Torres, wife Theresa Carol Torres, son Edward Torres, fiancé Maria Sandoval, son Richard Torres, and daughter Linda Torres. He had 19 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. He is also survived by his current wife of 40 years Oralia Torres, son Samuel Torres, and wife Roxana Torres.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Christopher Rodriguez, Paul Torres, Johnny Torres Jr., William
Torres, Edward Torres Jr. and Joe Angel Torres.

There will be a private viewing for the immediate family only Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 6pm-8pm.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 10:00 am at Pecan Grove Funeral Home
followed by burial at Oakwood Cemetery.

There will be a video conference service available for those who cannot attend in person.
