Jenice Wilma Jackson of Waco, Texas passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. Service will be at 1:00pm Saturday, November 2nd at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. The celebration of her life will be at the Painter farmhouse.
Jenice was born June 30, 1925 in West Point, AK to Allen and Alice Kidd. She fell in love with Jesse Jackson at the age of fifteen, although she would say “I was sixteen.” Jenice worked hard her whole life, from picking cotten on a farm to working at Wrings Manufacturing during the war. While life was hard at times she always found joy in creating. She loved arts and crafts and making beautiful china dolls. The love she had for her family was all she would ever talk about. Through the good times and the bad, she often repeated John 14; “let not your heart be troubled.” So today let not your heart be troubled, for Jenice is in Paradise with Jesse, and there are no tears in Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Alice Kidd; husband, Jesse Jackson; daughter, Alice Merrifield; and great-granddaughter, Jessica Knapp; along with her siblings.
Jenice is survived by her son, David Jackson and wife Margie of Austin, TX; daughters, Cindy Painter and husband Charles of Robinson, TX, Wilma White and husband Emmitt of Tucson, AZ, Marla Hansen and husband Jim of Apple Valley, CA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Wyrick, Thomas White, Phillip Hudgens, and Mike Conkle.
