Geraldine Allen

January 5, 1933 — November 12, 2022

Geraldine “Gerri” Hoehn Allen was born in McGregor, Texas on January 5, 1933 to Albert and Ella (Bohne) Hoehn and at the age of 89, on November 12, 2022, heaven gained another angel.

Gerri’s favorite thing was doing for others and gave her abundant and unconditional love to her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who are now missing her compassionate heart and caring soul. Gerri was an active member of First Baptist Church of McGregor and volunteered at the McGregor Community Library. Gerri enjoyed reading, singing in the choir, planting flowers, especially roses, and loved to cook and serve meals. She cherished spending time with her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. Gerri was a loving wife and in October celebrated her 66th wedding anniversary to her soul mate, Sidney Allen, who was her everything.

Those missing her presence besides Sidney are her two daughters, Beverly and husband, Scott Henry and Sharon and husband, Billy Trahan; son, Clifford Allen and her daughter-in-law, Vero; five grandchildren; Christopher Trahan, Ross Henry, Dean Henry, Jacob Trahan and Sofia Guadarrama; three sisters, Vivian Lange, Yvonne Schmalriede, Albertine Hendrickson; two brothers, Larry and wife Kaye Hoehn and Charles Hoehn; as well as nieces and nephews and many friends.

Those preceding Gerri in passing were her parents, Albert and Ella (Bohne) Hoehn; sisters, Janet Schmalriede and Patsy Isbell; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws; Richard and Janice Allen, Henry Lange, Edward Schmalriede, Milton Schmalriede, Bob Hendrickson, Ann Hoehn, and Jerry Isbell; nephew, Ralph Lange.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3, at 11:00 at First Baptist Church in McGregor. For those desiring to make memorial contributions the family has suggested American Stroke Association, BrightFocus Foundation, Meals on Wheels or your favorite charity.
