Doris Schmedthorst

Doris Eileen (Kunkel) Schmedthorst went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 10, 2022. She was born on December 16, 1938 to Elmo and Frieda Kunkel in Otto, Texas. Doris was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church, and always held strong to her faith.

On November 8, 1958, she married Robert C. Schmedthorst at Grace Lutheran Church in Marlin, Texas. Doris was a very caring and generous person, who always made sacrifices so others could have what they needed. She was a loving mom and provided a guiding hand to her children and grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents Elmo and Frieda, and her daughter Annette Crook.

She is survived by her daughter Robin Schmedthorst, her son and daughter-in-law Mark and Adria Schmedthorst, her grandchildren Tiffany Moran-Burdett, Aimee Toten, Allie and Lilah Schmedthorst, and great-grandchildren Chad Moran Jr., Alessa Burdett, and Caprice Pankonien; sisters, Sharon Folks and husband Gary and Sandra Roberson; as well as bonus granddaughter Lacey Paulson.

Visitation will be held at Pecan Grove on Thursday, March 17 from 5 to 7:30 pm, with funeral services at St. Mark Lutheran Church on Friday, March 18 at 1 pm.
