Ashley Marie Herrera, 31 passed away Friday, December 6, 2019. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12, at the funeral home.

Ashley Marie Herrera was born August 5, 1988 in Waco, Texas to Moses Herrera and Denise Marie Casarez of Waco. She graduated with honors from Connally High School in 2006. She was a Cadet Angel Highlighter, played basketball, volleyball and softball. She got her Cosmetology license from MCC June 2015 what she loved to do best. She got all her clientele at Cuttin’ Up in Hewitt. She loved everyone she worked with and all her clients. She never met anyone that did not love her. Ashley always had a beautiful smile on her face. She was always laughing and making jokes. She was outgoing and loved to be with her family. She had an unbreakable bond with her nephew, Turtle. She treated both nephews, Turtle and Spooky, as if they were her own. She loved her brother to the moon and back, and had his back through thick and thin. She was like a big sister to Josh Casarez and Alyssa Herrera. Ashley had a very special bond with her mom as her best friend and with her aunt Bebe and little cousins, Bubba and Papas. She loved her daddy and was daddy’s little girl. She loved her grandparents, Cynthia Casarez, Manuel and Helen Herrera dearly. She loved her aunt Debbie as her big sister. Ashley cherished all her Herrera aunts and uncles.

Ashley was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dennis Gonzales Casarez; uncle, Dennis Raymond Casarez; aunt, Janie Herrera and great grandparents.

She is survived by her father, Moses Herrera; her mother, Denise Marie Casarez; brother, Thomas Joseph “TJ” Herrera; her nephews, Thomas Joseph “Turtle” Herrera, Christian Jerimiah “Spooky” Herrera; her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Manuel, Sr. and Helen Herrera, and Cynthia Casarez; her aunts, Lisa Casarez, Debbie Olivo, and husband David, Angela Herrera, Mary Frances Torres, Eve “Tunie” Herrera; her uncles, Rudy Herrera and wife, Rosalinda, Adam Herrera and wife Margie, Larry Herrera and wife Trish, Manuel Herrera Jr., and wife Janie, Albert “Memis” Herrera; Michael Herrera and wife Christine; boyfriend, Sharp Johnson. Several cousins and friends all of Waco.
