Angelita “Angie” D. Rodriguez, 73, of Eddy passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 16 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco, with Marian Smith officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Eddy Cemetery. The visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 15 at the funeral home.
Angie was born December 1, 1948 in Rosebud-Lott to Manuel and Manuela DeLeon. She went to school in Eddy, Texas. She married the “LOVE” of her life John Rodriguez on August 29, 1967 in McGregor, Texas. Angie worked as a custodian for the United States Postal Service for 25 years before retiring. She was also a caretaker to so many in her community. Angie loved to be around her family. They loved to come and see their “MOMO”! Everyone knew when they walked in her house, you may walk in hungry, but you were going to walk out full. Anyone who knew her was automatically “Family.” She had such a generous spirit and amazing personality. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Rodriguez; daughter, Patricia Davis; grandson, Gunner Brown; parents, Manuel Sr. and Manuela DeLeon; sister, Margarita Diaz; and brothers, Joe DeLeon, Amador DeLeon, and Raul DeLeon.
Angie is survived by her daughter, Becky Brown of Lorena; son, John Rodriguez and wife Jennifer of Troy; daughter, Florance Wagner and husband Greg of Eddy; daughter, Angie Ford and husband Robert of Temple; daughter, Jannie Rodriguez of Eddy; brothers, Albert DeLeon of Hamilton, Lupe DeLeon and wife Tracy of Lorena, Manuel DeLeon Jr. and wife June of Eddy; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Wagner, Stanley Davis, Richard Vargas, Ace Salas, Chris Kilgore, Chris Anderson, Justin Forguson, and Gregg Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Ainsworth, Waylon Ainsworth, Jeremy Ainsworth, Juan A. Rodriguez Jr. (Bubba), and Ricky Garcia.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thank you to Baylor Scott and White Hospice for the kind and compassionate care of their mom.
